As a Board Member of The Cooperative Lender, you play a vital role in shaping the organization’s future. You’ll work alongside fellow board members and the executive team to set and monitor strategic goals and vision. You ensure strong governance by upholding best practices, financial oversight, and compliance. Through advocacy and outreach, you help amplify our mission and expand our network. You also support resource development by identifying and securing partnerships that drive long-term growth.
We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about community development and leadership, with diverse perspectives and expertise. Ideal qualifications include experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Finance and accounting
- Economic development
- Legal affairs
- Management
- Community development
- Small business entrepreneurship
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
Whether you’re a seasoned board member or exploring your first opportunity at this level, we encourage you to apply.
Our board members commit to:
- Attending bi-monthly board meetings (either in person or virtually)
- Serving on at least one committee
- Committing to a two-year term, with the option to renew for an additional term
- Interim Board Position: Initially, selected board members will serve in an interim capacity. Once we have full membership, we will hold elections for permanent board seats.
